Erin Ellington
Fitness and swimsuit model Erin Ellington is a woman of many passions. From small town Iowa homecoming queen, to the cover of fitness magazines, to motherhood and makeup artist, she exudes a desire for excellence in whatever path she chooses. A family ancestry of French, Dutch, German and Native American descent, Erin originally set out to work in the field of social services. A graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa with a Bachelors in Psychology and Sociology, Erin decided a change of pace was needed after working as a youth crisis counselor in Des Moines, Iowa and became a flight attendant based out of Kansas City, Missouri. It was on an excursion to New York that Erin was discovered by a prestigious fashion and fitness photographer, who put her on the map. She quickly became established as a successful model, appearing in swimsuits on the pages of popular men’s fitness and bodybuilding magazines for many years before officially stepping away from her work as a model.
Erin appeared on the covers and pages of magazines such as American Curves, Muscular Development, MuscleMag, Planet Muscle, Muscle Media, Vamperotica’s Pin-Up Illustrated and more, but Erin now focuses primarily on her career working as a makeup artist for other models and actors. She says
I could have a little gypsy in my blood because I love to travel and be on the go as much as possible. I’m not always certain of what cities I will be in with my makeup artist work from month to month, but that’s exciting to me. Some of the work is lined up a year in advance, and other jobs come in quickly, so I have to be ready to adjust my schedule accordingly. It’s important for me to stay busy and to have fun because this really is it, this is life. I absolutely do believe in seizing the moment, so yes, I live it up, from being the best mother I can be, to enjoying every little place I go, and every person that I meet. I think I have a very old soul with a very young spirit, if that makes sense, and no matter the ups or downs, I always find a way to laugh, pull off a little bit of orneriness, and appear as the invincible mommy to my children. In the end, I know I am blessed and have a pretty amazing life.
Ellington loves being a makeup artist while balancing her time as a mother. “I will continue working with photographers, models, and individuals in the fashion and entertainment industry in some realm, for my entire life. I thrive and am the happiest when I’m around artistic and creative people. I feel very centered right now. I’m not searching for anything in particular, and that’s a good place for me to be.” Her confidence, humor, and exuberance for life, make Erin a sought after professional–who effortlessly inspires her clients, as a bit of her own vivacious personality, and panache, naturally rubs off on every person she meets.
